Located in the Vital Village Community Hub, Mercer Close, Thames Ditton, KT7 0BS
The Waste to Plate flagship store is our hub for community-driven, sustainable food solutions. We bring together surplus food and fresh produce to offer the community an inclusive, farm-shop feel—a space without a till where everyone, regardless of age or background, feels welcome and valued.
We aim to reduce food waste by rescuing surplus food and redirecting it where it has the most impact. Waste to Plate doesn’t simply distribute food; we’re educating and empowering our community to focus on food quality over arbitrary "best-before" dates. Through our flagship store, we want to inspire people to think differently about waste and create meaningful connections around shared values of sustainability and food renewal.

Community Shop: Our shop offers an array of rescued and high-quality fresh produce, available for anyone to take. This is an inclusive, no-cost experience where individuals can freely access what they need, fostering a sense of community around reducing waste.
Education & Awareness: While we don’t host workshops, we continuously engage with the community to raise awareness on reducing waste and making informed decisions about food.
Our Thames Ditton location is more than a store—it’s a space that champions sustainability, tackles food insecurity, and fosters a supportive community around the power of shared resources and knowledge.
At Waste to Plate, we’re committed to keeping our services accessible to everyone. To cover the ongoing costs of our initiatives—from sourcing fresh produce to maintaining our community shop—we rely on the generosity of individuals, local businesses, and community partnerships who share our passion for reducing food waste and supporting sustainable change.
While our flagship store provides resources without charge, small donations from visitors, business contributions, and support from community-minded partners make our work possible. These contributions help us keep our shelves stocked, expand our impact, and continue educating our community on food sustainability. Every bit of support helps us take one step closer to a waste-free future.
